How to Create a Podcast Website With Omny Studio (In 3 Steps)

April 3, 2023

OmnyStudio is a popular podcast hosting provider, especially among enterprise and business clients. It’s owned by Triton Digital, and positions itself as an “Enterprise Hosting” solution. The platform has become quite popular in recent years, and while their hosting offering is great – they offer a rather basic podcast website or landing page. In this article, we’ll look at the best way to create a proper podcast website based on your show that is hosted on Omny Studio (or anywhere else really).

Fortunately, you can connect your OmnyStudio-hosted podcast with our Podcastpage website builder. Podcastpage is the most powerful podcast website platform – it’ll help you automatically create a website in just a couple of minutes by connecting your Omny RSS feed, and import all of your existing (and future) episodes. You can still use OmnyStudio to host your show alongside Podcastpage for the website.

An Introduction to OmnyStudio

OmnyStudio is an audio management and publishing software for enterprise podcasting. Its target audience is generally radio stations and network podcasters:

Unlike many other podcast hosting platforms, OmnyStudio aims to combine radio and podcasting. As you air your show, these episodes will be intelligently recorded and saved in the cloud. This provides an easy way to merge the two mediums.

Plus, OmnyStudio creates many opportunities for monetization, including dynamic and targeted ad insertion, host-read commercials, and video ads. When you publish a new episode, you’ll be able to access detailed analytics about your audience’s preferred device, podcast app, and location.

OmnyStudio can be a powerful Content Management System (CMS) for on-demand audio content. Many popular networks like CNN, iHeart Podcasts, and All Things Comedy use OmnyStudio to host, publish, and share their podcasts.

Where OmnyStudio Might Be Lacking

While OmnyStudio might seem appealing, it’s important that you weigh your options before choosing a podcast host. This platform is better suited for enterprise podcasting, so it might not be ideal for smaller operations or indie creators.

When browsing the OmnyStudio website, you’ll also notice a lack of transparent pricing. Although there are three different tiers with custom features, you’d have to ask for a quote to get more information:

As a podcaster, a dedicated website can help you build your brand and manage all of your episodes on your own platform. However, you won’t be able to create a full podcast website with OmnyStudio. They do offer a very basic landing page but it doesn’t really include any feature that’ll make that a real complete site like custom pages, navigation, a blog and more.

Fortunately, Podcastpage can give you everything you need to host your podcast and get it online. Plus, we provide beautiful pre-designed templates to help you design your site more easily:

Similar to OmnyStudio, Podcastpage enables you to monetize episodes, view audience analytics, and share your content. However, you can also grow your podcast using built-in Search Engine Optimization (SEO) features, import your podcast reviews from Apple Podcasts and Podchaser, customize the entire look and feel of your site, connect with third-party integrations, and more!

How to Create a Podcast Website With Omny Studio (In 3 Steps)

If you recently signed up for OmnyStudio, you may be struggling to create a website for your podcast. Fortunately, you can easily import your episodes to Podcastpage and start building an online presence!

Step 1: Add Your Podcast to Podcastpage

To connect your OmnyStudio-hosted show to Podcastpage, you’ll need to locate your RSS feed URL. This is what allows your podcast to be distributed on listening apps like Spotify or Apple Podcasts.

You can find your OmnyStudio RSS feed in your playlists, under the sharing details.

Once you have your RSS feed URL, you can go ahead and sign up for Podcastpage. Click on Get Started and enter a username, email address, and password for your new account:

Then, you can add your podcast by pasting the RSS feed URL that you’ve just copied:

After you hit Import Podcast, you’ll see your OmnyStudio podcast in the Podcastpage dashboard. Even though you’re using another platform, you won’t have to manually import your episodes again.

Step 2: Create Your Podcast Website

After you import your published podcasts, you can start building a custom website on Podcastpage. Click on the Customize tab in your dashboard. This will open the Customizer:

Now, open the General Settings. Here, you can select a theme for your Omny podcast website:

Once you find a theme you like, you’ll be able to update the colors, fonts, padding, and logos. Using the sidebar on the left, you can even add voice message buttons, right-to-left text, and much more:

If you go back to the main settings in the Customizer, you’ll see different options for adding social buttons, custom CSS, and memberships. As you can see, you have full control over your site’s layout and functionality.

To customize specific elements on your page, click on the Edit Page button to launch the editor. Then, you can drag and drop content blocks wherever you’d like them:

If you need to edit an item, simply click on it. This will open custom settings for that module:

When you’re finished, select Save Page and close the editor. You can then repeat this editing process for every page on your podcast website.

Step 3: Add Participants

As an OmnyStudio customer, you likely run a major podcast network. This means that you may have many team members who contribute to the show. Plus, you might invite a lot of guest speakers.

With Podcastpage, you can easily feature these collaborators on your website. Find the Participants tab and click on the + New Participant button:

Add podcast participants

Next, enter the participant’s name. Since this will become a profile page, you’ll also need to add a slug. Although it isn’t required, consider featuring a profile picture and their job title as well:

Once you save this page, you can feature this collaborator on your podcast. When you edit an episode, find the new Episode Participants section. Here, you can enter their name and role:

Add episode participant

This will credit the participant next to the new episode. If listeners want to learn more about them, they can visit the dedicated profile page on your website.

If you need to add team members to help you manage the site – you can add new collaborators via the “General -> Team Members” tab.

Conclusion

Although OmnyStudio can be an effective hosting solution for large networks, it doesn’t offer a website for your podcast. However, you can simply import all your episodes to Podcastpage and manage your entire website there. Our website builder will provide the tools you need to create the perfect Omny podcast website.
